Produce 101 Season 2 is gearing up for broadcast and more details about the show and resulting group promotions are being revealed.
An insider report revealed that the contracts for the group that will be formed through Produce 101 Season 2 will run until December 31, 2018. This gives the group around 18 months of guaranteed promotion time. I.O.I, the group formed by Produce 101 Season 1, only promoted together for 10 months.
The report also states that the group formed will have significantly more promotions compared to I.O.I. Boy groups generally bring in more fans, and thus the current plans are to promote the winning group both domestically and abroad. There are even preliminary plans for a world tour in place.
The strategy that Mnet is using for Produce 101 Season 2 is to gain popularity through broadcasts and to create a solid fandom. With this, they can then expand to local and international promotions.
The trainees participating in Produce 101 Season 2 recently finished up their first week of training camp at the Paju Hallyu Training Center. The show is scheduled to be broadcast after High School Rapper finishes airing, bringing a tentative air date of March 31. Boy group NU’EST is confirmed to be participating and there are many others who are rumored to be joining the show.
