To celebrate the release of her latest single, “What Do I Call You?”, Girls’ Generation‘s Taeyeon gave fans one of the greatest gifts they could ask for: a 100-question interview. One fun fact she revealed is which artists she’d like to collab with—and funnily, they all have something in common with her.
1. Taemin (SHINee)
The first artist Taeyeon revealed she wants to collaborate with is SHINee’s Taemin.
In an Instagram Q&A last year, Taeyeon revealed she’s “really close” with hoobae Taemin, and she’s often been seen fangirling over his impressive performances in her Instagram stories. Recently, she shared his “Criminal” stage with fans, adding the caption “HOLLLLLLLY” in awe. If the two teamed up for a song like that, there’s no doubt it would smash the charts.
Looks like Taeyeon has a think for labelmates with similar names to hers, because she added NCT’s Taeyong to the list too.
Back at SMTOWN in Chile last year, Taeyong performed “Wannabe” with Taeyeon’s fellow Girls’ Generation member, Hyoyeon. After the NCT 127 main rapper lit up the stage with his performance, fans can be sure he’d bring a superb rap verse to any future Taeyeon song.
And last but not least, you guessed it—another “Tae”. Taeyeon added NCT’s Taeil to her list of artists she wants to collab with.
From her “Starlight” special stage with Jaehyun to her song (“All Night Long”) with Lucas, Taeyeon has proved how well she works with NCT members. Since Taeil and Taeyeon share similar powerhouse vocal skills, he’d definitely be the ideal choice for a new “NCT-yeon” special stage or song.
