On March 29, Fantagio released a securities report that revealed who was their highest-earning artists and actors.
According to the report, actor-singer Ong Seong Wu brought a total of ₩7.308 billion KRW (about $6.45 million USD) in profits from 2018 to 2020. Meanwhile, ASTRO‘s Cha Eunwoo brought in a total of ₩6.458 billion KRW (about $5.7 million USD).
Ong Seong Wu achieved sales records of ₩1.44 billion KRW (about $1.271 million USD) in 2018, ₩3.125 billion KRW (about $2.76 million USD) in 2019, and ₩3.043 billion KRW (about $2.685 million USD) in 2020. Seong Wu originally debuted back in 2017 with Wanna One, gaining him a lot of popularity. In 2020, he released his first solo album, LAYERS, and took on his first acting role in JTBC‘s More Than Friends.
Cha Eunwoo achieved sales records of ₩1.378 billion KRW (about $1.216 million USD) in 2018, ₩2.504 billion KRW (about $2.21 million USD) in 2019, and ₩2.576 billion KRW (about $2.273 million USD) in 2020. Eunwoo made his official debut with ASTRO in 2016 and has been active as both a singer and an actor for several years. Perhaps his most popular role was Su Ho in tvN‘s 2020 K-Drama True Beauty. Currently, he is also returning member of SBS‘s Master in the House.
Fantagio’s greatest source of overall revenue is their boy group ASTRO, which achieved sales records of ₩4.116 billion KRW (about $3.64 million USD) in 2018, ₩6.423 billion KRW (about $5.67 million USD) in 2019, and ₩6.314 billion KRW (about $5.58 million USD) in 2020. The company reported that ASTRO made up 38 percent of the agency’s sales revenue in 2020.
The report also included information on artist’s contracts. According to the securities report, ASTRO’s contract will last until February 2023. Ong Seong Wu’s goes a year later until August 2024. Fantagio’s girl group, Weki Meki’s contract will also last until August 2024. It also stated that there are currently 50 artists and trainees signed under the agency, with 31 of those artists debuted.
