Tan (also known as Choi Seokwon) from the rookie boy-group Ciipher will be making his acting debut in the upcoming web-drama Phantom School.
Ciipher’s label, Rain Company, announced that he will be playing the main character in the drama which is to be produced by production company Bamboo Network. It will be an action-fantasy drama, revolving around phantoms trying to disrupt the world and hunters that aim to kill them and protect humans from their manipulation schemes. In a report by Star News, this drama will feature a merging of human and fantasy worlds which have “not been seen in existing dramas.”
Tan will be playing Do Kyeom, a student who is the “object of many students’ envy for his kind personality and good looks.” In a statement, he said that he is looking forward to trying something new.
I took on my first acting challenge as Lee Do Kyeom in Phantom School. I am excited and nervous, but I will try to show you the best of me as an actor. My role in this drama is different from what I have shown with Ciipher. I am excited to show you a new look. Please look forward to it and give me a lot of support.
Tan debuted with Ciipher in March 2020 with the song “I Like You,” and he will be making his acting debut in Phantom School in the later half of this year. The exact release date has not yet been specified.
