Although Mnet‘s Kingdom started as a competition between groups, it became the place for idols to make friends with each other. Whether they knew each other before or not, it allowed the idols to interact with each other. Despite their age and seniority, they all bonded over their love of performing.
Here are six iconic friendships from Kingdom that fans fell in love with!
1. ATEEZ’s Wooyoung And Stray Kids’ Changbin
From the very first episode, fans fell in love with the cheeky friendship between ATEEZ’s Wooyoung And Stray Kids’ Changbin, known as “Lovey” and “Dovey.” The two had amazing chemistry throughout, especially when it came to being the MCs during the sports day. They were also supportive, making sure to cheer each other on during their performances.
2. iKON’s Jinhwan And SF9’s Inseong
Throughout the series, iKON and SF9 made it clear that they struggled to make friends with other idols. This reason made the two groups’ friendship even sweeter, particularly the relationship between eldest members Jinhwan and Inseong. At the start, the two were formal with each other, despite being the same age. By the end, they were more relaxed and seemed comfortable.
3. ATEEZ’s Wooyoung And Stray Kids’ Felix
Wooyoung was definitely the social butterfly during Kingdom, and one of his blooming friendships was with Felix. When the groups had to split into two teams, Wooyoung instantly took to one of the competition’s youngest idols. From their friendship test to performing stunts, both seemed comfortable with each other. Even in the final, the two showed how their relationship has grown.
4. iKON’s Bobby, SF9’s Hwiyoung And THE BOYZ’s Sunwoo
Like many of the groups during the unit challenge, the rap trio of iKON’s Bobby, SF9’s Hwiyoung, and THE BOYZ’s Sunwoo was a fan favorite. Although Hwiyoung and Sunwoo first went in as huge Bobby fans, he immediately made them feel comfortable. From buying each other presents and just hanging out, it is definitely a friendship that will blossom.
5. BTOB’s Eunkwang, ATEEZ’s Jongho And Stray Kids’ Seungmin
Despite the big age gap between them, BTOB’s Eunkwang immediately made ATEEZ’s Jongho And Stray Kids’ Seungmin feel at ease with him. From the unit challenge to the final show, the three idols seemed to bond over their love for music, allowing each other to shine in their own way. Although Eunkwang is the senior, it never felt anything but equal.
6. BTOB’s Minhyuk And Everyone
There is no denying that during Kingdom, everyone fell in love with BTOB’s Minhyuk. From the senior to the youngest groups, all the idols seemed to fall for Minhyuk’s visuals, charms, and talent. From Stray Kids’ Han becoming flustered or the idols voting Minhyuk as the visual King, the love was universal.
